Hey there! I’m excited to share my story with you – a tale that took me from a dream-filled youth in Colombia to becoming a dedicated student consultant, all driven by my passion for education and exploration.
Picture this: I was born in Colombia, full of big dreams just like you. At 16, I wanted to study, work hard, earn lots of money, have a successful career, a wonderful family, and see the world.
The starting point was studying business administration with a focus on Marketing. When I finished college, I began working at an International Trade Office. This job allowed me to travel two to three times a year to explore new places for business. This is when my life took a turn. Instead of waiting for some far-off future, I decided to make travel a part of my successful career right away. I loved traveling around South America for work purposes, and I knew there was so much more to discover.
After three exciting years of business adventures, I realized I was hungry for more knowledge. I started searching for opportunities to specialize internationally. That’s when I stumbled upon my first international experience – a specialized program in Marketing of Services in Maastricht, Netherlands. This was a fully funded program that covered my travel and living expenses for six full months of university. This journey was a game-changer. It boosted my English skills, challenged me to step out of my comfort zone in a foreign land, and catapulted my career to new international heights.
When I returned home, I had a revamped resume and a promising career ahead of me. Just two months later, I landed a job in the USA. For the next decade, I made the US my home while continuing to evolve professionally. But life is all about twists and turns. Feeling the need for change, I went back to Colombia for eight years. During this time, something stirred within me. My early dreams of success were achieved, but I yearned for something more profound – a spiritual connection. I began looking for scholarships to India or China and within six months, I found one that took me to New Delhi for a month-long Strategic Planning Course. It was during this time that I awoke to the spiritual path I was seeking and I continue to nourish.
After six years of working in a Higher Education Institution, a new opportunity knocked on my door. I applied for an Erasmus fellowship for administrative staff exchange. The universe smiled upon me again, granting me the chance to visit Portugal for three months with all expenses covered. Portugal’s charm swept me off my feet – its culture, location, quality of life, and weather left an indelible mark on my heart. I went back to Colombia and only four months later, I found myself packing my bags once again, this time to settle in Portugal, my newfound haven.
